Chief Executive Officer
Gary Alexander
Gary founded the firm in 1992 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Gary is responsible for setting the strategic vision of the firm and overseeing the investment process. Over 30 years, Gary has invested with third-party funds spanning multiple strategies and operating companies across many industries.
Prior to founding Palomino, Gary was an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel in New York City. Gary served on the Board of Directors of Seventh Generation Inc. up until its sale to Unilever PLC and serves on the board of trustees of World ORT.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and a J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami, where he served as managing editor of the University of Miami Law Review. He is currently a member of the bar of the State of New York.
Chief Financial Officer
Franca Commodari, CPA Auditor
As Chief Financial Officer, Franca is responsible for leading the company’s financial and accounting functions, while partnering with its team members in order to help drive the strategic vision of the company.
Prior to joining Palomino, Franca worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP within both its audit and consulting divisions, whereby she worked on both public and private mandates, led teams and was simultaneously offered a position within the firm’s Canadian Corporate Taxation and U.S. Taxation Departments.
She then went on to become Director of Finance and was later promoted to VP Operations of Aliston Capital Corporation, a private investment company operating within a wide array of industries.
In order to enrich her accounting knowledge, Franca gained key corporate finance experience at one of Canada’s Chartered Financial Institutions and was instrumental in developing key financing solutions for corporations involved in mergers and acquisitions.
Franca also lectured at the university level for a multitude of courses, including Taxation, Financial Accounting, Intermediate Financial Reporting, Analysis of Markets and Contemporary Business Thinking.

She holds not only a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, whereby she graduated with great distinction and was awarded membership into both the Garnett Key and Golden Key societies, but she also earned a Graduate Degree in Accountancy, as well as her Chartered Accountancy (CPA Auditor) title, having ranked third within the entire program.
Managing Director
Jamie Minzberg, MBA
Jamie joined Palomino Capital in 2021. He is responsible for identifying and executing on new investments as well as managing the existing portfolio. Jamie has worked in corporate finance for over 20 years.
Prior to joining Palomino, Jamie worked at Pharmascience Inc. in strategy, business and corporate development. As Director of Corporate Development, he was responsible for leading numerous acquisitions and strategic investments. He also was responsible for overseeing the investment portfolio.
Jamie began his career in investment banking where he worked at CIBC World Markets and Desjardins Securities. While there he assisted companies in assessing and executing on various strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions and raising capital. Jamie holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
Senior Accountant
Maria Vincelli, BCOMM
Maria joined Palomino Capital Corporation as Senior Accountant in December 2020. Her role requires her to be actively involved in all corporate accounting for the firm.
Maria graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accountancy and afterwards obtained her CGA designation. She has worked as both accountant and assistant controller in the commercial real estate industry for several years and has recently transitioned into the financial investment industry after having completed the Canadian Securities Course.
Maria has nearly 15 years of accounting experience and prior to joining Palomino, she has worked at Dalfen’s Ltd., Canpro Investments Ltd., Massicap Inc. and Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP.
Investment Analyst
Jordan Schwartz, BCOMM
Jordan joined Palomino Capital as an Investment Analyst in January 2022. His role is to work closely with the team in finding investment opportunities. Jordan is also responsible for the data entry and reporting on the existing investments.
Jordan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, where he holds a triple minor in Business Analytics, Finance, and Information Systems. Before working at Palomino, Jordan worked as a data collector at Pro Football Focus.
